Easter

Springtime is an emotional time of year for me. The past few years have been completely life-changing in many ways, and for some reason everything has happened during this season (the births of our sons, tornado, miscarriages, etc.) I was home alone (well, the boys were asleep, and Ethan was gone) the night before Easter, and the movie The Ten Commandments came on. I had a complete meltdown because last year at this time we were sitting in the hospital watching this movie, waiting to find out if our baby was okay (which he/she wasn't.) I was upset because I feel like I'll always associate Easter (and that movie) with the loss of our baby. Our other baby we lost on March 20th, so those couple weeks can be hard. My only hope is that I will never take for granted the children that I have here on earth and will recognize the many blessings in them.
In other more positive news, we went to Tiernan's two year Dr. appt. and he now weighs 30 lbs. (75%) and is 36 1/2 in. long (92%.) We celebrated Easter this past weekend by first going to the town Easter Egg Hunt (what an adventure!) and on Sunday went out to the farm.
Tiernan LOVES going out to the farm. We looked at all the equipment-all he could say was "WOW, WOW, WOW!" He even got to sit in the new tractor.

Egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa's house. He wasn't too excited about it-just picked up a few eggs and then wanted to look at the loader and the sheep.

On the Saturday before Easter, we went the Town of Windsor Easter Egg Hunt. It took literally one minute to complete, so we spent another few minutes on the playground, but it was way too crowded!

He didn't quite understand what the fuss was all about. I was a little concerned we were going to get run over (by the parents, that is!)

He finally got it figured out-just in time for all the eggs to be gone!

Latest Cameron Pics

Cameron is now 5 1/2 weeks old. The time has gone by so fast and so slow at the same time. I'm definitely ready for him to start sleeping longer at night (he wakes up every 2-3 hours to eat.) I'm trying to take things one day at a time and not get too overwhelmed. Sometimes I wish I had an extra pair of hands (and a cook and maid!)
They've both been so sick this past week and as a result Tiernan has been so snuggly with me. The other day I was holding them both and realizing how blessed I am to have two such beautiful boys! I'm a lucky lady!

I was able to catch a few cute little smiles.

When we were at the Dr. last week he weighed in at 10 lbs. Wow!

Crazy hair!!

Tiernan turns 2!

We celebrated Tiernan's 2nd birthday this past weekend. We were so fortunate to have a house full of friends and family. Tiernan was starting to get sick, so he didn't eat any of his cake or ice cream :(

Grandpa and the grandkids

Tiernan and Carter had fun playing with the tractors and trucks

Some new Matchbox cars

Ethan had a lot of help opening gifts!

He was not so sure about all the attention...

St. Patrick's Day and Bathroom Disasters

We were able to break out Tiernan's Irish shirt yesterday for St. Patrick's Day. Cameron also has one, but his is a little too big right now. Hopefully this summer I can be one of those obnoxious parents who puts their kids in the same shirts. :)

My boys (they all look so similar!)

Earlier this week I was feeding Cameron and apparently I had left the bathroom door open. I should have known because Tiernan was being really quiet. Now we keep the toilet paper locked under the sink, but he still manages to unravel the one on the holder.

Cameron's Room

Here are some pictures of Cameron's room. My dad was so nice and painted the nursery while he and my mom were here visiting after Cameron was born. I still want to put some more things on the walls (in all my spare time)-it never happened with Tiernan, but hey, his room was also in the tornado so I think I have a pretty good excuse. :)

More cute curtains that Brenda made.

My mom made the quilt that is hanging on the wall

2 Weeks Old!

We've officially survived two weeks with a newborn! I'm still trying to get used to sleep deprivation...but it is all worth it when Cameron gives me those little smiles (yes, I know they're not "real" smiles) and makes those cute little newborn noises. He's been eating well and for the most part is a good sleeper-wakes up to eat but then goes right back to sleep. So far he won't take a pacifier-I'm a little bit nervous about that-I'm sure my family will think that's hilarious since I'm still (half-heartedly) trying to break our nearly two year old of the pacifier.

We went to his two week Dr. appt. on Tuesday, and he now weighs 8 lbs. 1 oz. (50%) and is still 20 3/4 in. long (50%.) And just like with Tiernan, she was so impressed by how much weight he's gained (Have you looked at his parents??)

I know his hair looks dark in pictures...it's actually a medium blond color For the most part, he is pretty content when he's awake-unless of course it's time to eat!

Tiernan is so curious about his new baby brother. He is so gentle with Cameron and I can tell really wants to play with him.

Yesterday he started giving Cameron kisses-so cute!
