Christmas!

This year we spent Christmas in Eaton on the Cozzens' farm. We had so much fun as Tiernan is just starting to understand how this whole Christmas thing works. By the end he was helping Ethan and I open gifts...but it took us forever to open gifts because of course he wanted to play with each one. :) It's fun to experience Christmas through the eyes of a child!

He always takes all of his stuffed animals and bites their noses.

John Deere dump truck from the aunties and uncles-he kept putting all of his other toys in the back

That morning we ate breakfast at our house. Yes, people, I actually cooked pancakes, bacon, and eggs. (I told Ethan not to get used to it!) Then we opened gifts from my side of the family.

New Ultrasound Pics

Here are the latest pictures of Baby Cozzens. They are a little hard to see, so hopefully you have good imaginations! The Dr. had me do an additional ultrasound because my placenta was a little low lying. Thankfully it has moved out of the way, so unless there are complications during labor, I shouldn't have to have a C-section. Yahoo! However, they discovered that he has the cord wrapped around his neck. The Dr. said that this is very common (about 25% of all babies) but it's still hard not to worry. So we continue saying prayers that the rest of this pregnancy will go smoothly-I can't believe I'm in my third trimester already!

Hopefully you can read all of the typed lettering on the pictures.

Thanksgiving week

We spent Thanksgiving this year in GJ. Tiernan had so much fun playing with his cousins...and I'm sure my parents were excited to see us go so they could have a quiet house to themselves again!
GREAT aunt Debbi got some great shots of Tiernan-thanks Deb!

I was not fast enough to catch Tiernan and Libby smiling (and still!) at the same time...

Tiernan loves his daddy

He loved sitting in the loader (Ahhh! I'll be so embarrassed when I discover that's not the real name of this piece of equipment...I need to study up for my house full of boys!)

Halloween!

First we carved pumpkins...this is the only shot we could get of him looking mildly interested. He really wanted nothing to do with the process.

Later that night we put him in his costume which he wanted nothing to do with either.

Can you see the mad/crying face?

We visited Megan and Jerod's house, and we were slightly redeemed since he got to play with their cat Asher. Hopefully next year he'll be a little bit more excited about it. :)

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday was SO nice-82 degrees in October! We took advantage of the lovely weather by taking a trip to the pumpkin patch. We were shocked at how busy our little local Windsor patch was-but I think the fact that we only had to pay $1.50 for our pumpkin helps (the same size was $6.99 at King Soopers!) Tiernan could have cared less about the pumpkins...he just wanted to push the wheelbarrow and play on the equipment. He's all boy I guess!
We just had to steer the cart-he pushed it for us and got mad when we'd stop to look at pumpkins.

I tried to get a cute picture with a straw hat...you can tell he was really excited about it.

He loved the wheels!

We had to get some ice cream on the way home...you can tell he enjoyed it!

Baby Cozzens is a....

I had my 20 week ultrasound on Monday and we found out that we are having another boy! We are so excited and I'm preparing myself for many years of Legos and trucks. :) Everything looked great although my placenta was a little low lying so I'll have to do another ultrasound in a couple of months to make sure that it's moved out of the way. We're saying lots of prayers that it does move otherwise I'll have to have a c-section. In any case, here are pictures of our cute little boy...

Not sure why there is so much space between these pictures. Anyway, here is the picture where we could tell he is a boy.

Snow in October!

It has been so snowy and cold the past couple of days so I decided to be brave and bundle up Tiernan so he could go out and play in it. He wasn't so sure about it yet-whenever he'd try to touch it, he'd look at his hands and then shake them to get the snow off. Guess I'd better invest in some gloves! :)

18 Month Dr. Visit

No pictures today, just updates...
I took Tiernan to the Dr. on Monday and he is 34 inches long (90%) and weighs 27 lbs., 2 oz. (74%.) The last time we went in a couple of weeks ago to get tested for the flu and strep he was so traumatized...and somehow I think he remembered because he completely freaked out just when I set him on the scale to weigh him! So you can imagine what happened next when the Dr. tried to listen to his heart, check his ears, his "boyparts", etc., etc. I was also a little traumatized by having to hold his arms and head still. I was amazed at how strong he was...I was concerned I'd drop him on the floor. But we survived, and now hopefully we don't have to go in again for 6 months. Wahoo!
PS He seems to now be just fine after testing positive for swine flu. I'm a huge fan of Tamaflu-he seemed better the very next day after taking it although he did have some congestion/runny nose up until a few days ago.

17 Months Old

We have been enjoying the cooler fall weather this week, and thought we should spend as much time as possible outside before it's too cold and I get cabin fever. Here are some pictures of Tiernan playing:
He is really starting to enjoy throwing the ball, chasing after it, picking it up, and throwing it again. He is so proud that he can pick up things off the ground without having to hold on to anything for balance.

It was a proud day for Ethan that Tiernan is finally playing with dirt. Before Tiernan thought it was yucky and didn't like his hands getting dirty. For some reason this day he decided it was fun to pick up the dirt clods and throw them across our deck. However, after finishing playing in the dirt, he also decided that the flowers were just as fun...I failed to mention that to Ethan. :)

He liked to roll the ball between the flower pots and have me roll it back to him.

Can't quite reach the ball...

All smiles

Here is the one lone picture I took of him with Jacob when we visited GJ last week.
On another note, I am officially 16 weeks pregnant. We've had two Dr.'s appts. and at both she was able to detect a strong heartbeat, and I was measuring right on schedule (in fact, a little big!) So we might be receiving our little peanut a little earlier than expected. :)

Baby Cozzens Week 12

We have another baby on the way! We are SO excited for he/she to arrive early March (due date is March 3rd.) They've been monitoring me more closely this time around due to my history of miscarriage, so I've have two ultrasounds so far. Physically I've been a little bit sick (only thrown up twice) and been tired...but I'm nearly at the end of the first trimester so it's getting a little bit better. Right now I'm just trying to enjoy being pregnant, although I find myself most days still being scared half to death and nervous-but it's getting better the closer that I get to the 2nd trimester. We went to the Dr. on Tuesday, and we were able to hear the heartbeat for the first time. I was so relieved and so excited! Here are the first pics of our little peanut:

The first two pictures were of my first ultrasound at nearly 8 weeks. At that point the baby was only 1 cm long. The little bulge in the middle is the heart, and if you look really close, you can see the little dots of the arms and legs.
This ultrasound was taken at nearly 10 weeks. The little dot by the "rump" is the foot. I think at this point the baby was about 1 inch long. Both times we were able to see the tiny heart beating, and its rate was perfect! We also got to see the arms and legs moving around. Amazing!
Thanks everyone for all your continued thoughts and prayers...we truly appreciate them.
