Loving Summertime!

Summer time is probably my favorite time of year!  I love the long days and evenings just perfect for playing outside and going to bed way too late.

These pictures are all completely out of order, and I'm too lazy to move them all around, so here ya go!

We visited our favorite Greeley park, Glenmere, which we hadn't been to in over two years!  In this picture, a slug had snuck onto Cameron's shoulders.  I don't think I'd ever seen a slug in Colorado before that.  The boys were captivated.

Our grass is FINALLY big enough for the boys to be able to run around on, and, on this day, put the swim suits on and run through the sprinklers!  It is SOOOOOO nice to be able to go outside barefoot without risking goat heads bloodying your feet.

I have to capture them when they are all sitting happily together

But seriously, how do you fall asleep like this?

Doesn't Zane seem so thrilled?

How many naked kids can we stuff into the water table?

We got to chicken-sit our neighbors' chickens when they were out of town a few times this summer.  The boys loved gathering eggs and feeding and watering them (and shhhhh don't tell the neighbors but catching them too!)

A Little 4th of July Fun!

Fourth of July was spent in Grand Junction this year.  The big boys were so excited because they went one week early and had Grandma Camp for the first time.  My parents completely spoiled them!

First, a second breakfast at McDs on the trip back

They took a bubble bath in the jacuzzi tub.  I don't think my mom realized what would happen when they turned on the jets!

They had such a fun time at Glenwood Caverns.  Here they are on the tram up the mountain:

The boys rode over and over again on the Alpine slide

My dad tried to scare the snot out of Tiernan by taking him on a swing that went out over the cliff.

We're all about safety when riding the tricycle

The cousins went on another hike up Mica mine

The weather was perfect for lots of bike riding

We were able to go on mini hikes on the Colorado National Monument.  I was trying not to have a heart attack any time the boys went anywhere close to the edge.

Auntie Tiff took Cameron and Libby to the 4th of July parade

4th of July is all about the fireworks!

What a studly dude!

The first half of June

We went up to Bobcat Ridge for a grand re-opening that Ethan was a part of for his work.  They served ice cream and pie, and the boys played some games like potato sack races.   We tried to go for a hike, but it was SO hot that day.  We only made it maybe a quarter mile before needing to turn back around.

Holden's birthday celebration, part two:

I am so blessed to have happy healthy boys!

A visit to Grand Junction

Right after school got out we made our annual journey to Grand Junction to see my family.  We hadn't been there since Christmas, so it was fun to get out of town for a little while.

Cameron and Grandpa had a colossal pillow fight one afternoon.  They had to stop when the oldest kid (my dad) got too rowdy.

My grandparents celebrated 60 years of marriage while we were in town.  We had lunch at my  parents' house.  Luckily the weather was hot, so all the cousins could run around like crazy people.

Tiernan was having deep conversation with "G-pa."  SO sweet and such precious memories.  He is so fortunate to know his great grandparents.

One afternoon we made a trip to the dinosaur museum in Fruita.  It was more fun this time because the twins were not quite so freaked out by the dinosaurs.

Tiernan was the only one brave enough to pose with the T-rex

Doesn't the "meteor" kind of look like a giant turd?

Some sweet cuddle time with Grandma

Tiernan went on a mountain bike ride with the men and was so proud of his wounds after he had a big crash.

We were able to celebrate Holden's 2nd birthday at Auntie Debbi's house.

Hiking at Mica Mines

My aunt is the police chief in Palisade, and she pulled a few strings so that we could take a tour of the fire station.  The boys got to try on gear and sit in the fire trucks.

We always have such a great time seeing the whole family!
