Happy Birthday Tiernan

We had quite the crowd for Tiernan's first birthday party. Too bad the birthday boy only made it past us singing to him (not too impressed with the cake) and then needed to take a nap! Oh well...I guess he'd better enjoy the only time it's okay to lay down whenever you feel tired. :) PS He now weighs 25 lbs. (80%) and is 31.5 in. long (91%)

Haifley's Come to Visit

We had a fun week with Tiffany and the kiddos. We visited the dairy where the Jacob and Libby got to pet baby goats and cows. (Ethan would be mortified that I'm not saying kidds and calves.)

Libby loves all of Tiernan's toys even though she is way too tall for them. She kept telling us she wanted this and that for her 'berfday" (in November)

Jacob loved helping Tiernan walk around the house. I did too since it saved my back for a few minutes!

Bedhead

Yesterday when Tiernan got up from his nap he had some serious bedhead. This made me crack up since he hardly has any hair, but what little he has, he managed to get all messy.

Playing Outside

We have been enjoying the past couple of days of spring weather.

He is getting wise and pulling his hat off that I put on him. I don't think you have enough hair to protect your head, buddy!

Ethan is still working on finishing up the trimwork in our house. Tiernan was helping him out (mostly by deciding to nap right when Ethan would get set up and then he couldn't work!)

So close to walking...until then we'll use the deck to help.

Playing indoors with his creepy duck. Another tooth popped up on the bottom, which I'm sure you can't see. We were so surprised because usually he gets feverish/congested before he gets a tooth, but luckily not this time!

11 Months Old and Still Standing

Tiernan has been trying so hard at standing and walking. He is SO close! Today he stood by himself for 5-10 seconds. It reminded me of when he first started sitting: just little bits at a time until he finally was proficient at it. He has also been a walking machine! He walks all over the place-today we tried walking holding onto just one of my hands and he walked the length of the room before tipping over. He has been cruising along furniture and today when I was in the kitchen I looked up and he had walked along the wall into the room with me. I think I'm in trouble when he become more independently mobile. ;)

All smiles! He finally got both his two upper teeth, but they are alway hidden by his tongue or lip. He's been more stubborn about letting me look at them too-shuts his mouth and turns away when I try to look at them.

I was not fast enough to catch him standing by himself-
but here he is reaching for something he dropped on the ground.

Should I be concerned about this?

He was watching a Baby Einstein video while I was making dinner. YIKES!
